The Team
Jim Salter-Duke: Principal (founder)
Jim founded SparkHorizon to address climate change by empowering the exceptional talent in the Philippines.
Jim has worked in the UK, Australia, and the Philippines, with experience in consultancy, technology, and the energy and outsourcing sectors.
Jim has been leading teams in the Philippines for the last 13 years.
Before founding SparkHorizon, Jim held senior roles at EnergyAustralia, Telstra, and British Telecom.
Jim holds an Economics degree from Oxford University and a Master in Energy Systems (Engineering) from the University of Melbourne.

Our Story

The challenge? A successful energy transition demands millions of skilled professionals to design, build, and maintain the clean energy systems of tomorrow. Yet, a critical shortage of expertise threatens to slow us down.
In Australia alone, 2 million clean energy jobs are needed by 2050 and, alarmingly, we face an immediate shortfall of 85,000 skilled workers by 2030.
